29:Te3d,# Wan 3.0 Video Prime: Image-to-Video and Text-to-Video with Native Audio

## What is Wan 3.0 Video Prime?

Wan 3.0 Video Prime is the accelerated tier of Alibaba Tongyi Lab's Wan 3.0 video model. It turns a text prompt, a still image, or reference material into video, and it composes native audio in the same pass, so a clip comes back scored rather than silent. Because it is the speed-oriented "Prime" tier, it delivers the Wan 3.0 look with significantly faster end-to-end generation, which is what you want for previews, iteration, and user-facing turnaround.

One unified model covers three modes: text-to-video from a prompt alone, image-to-video from a first frame (optionally a first-and-last frame to fix where a shot ends), and reference-based generation that holds a subject, character, or style steady across the clip. Output runs at 480P, 720P, or 1080P across 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, and 9:16, with a single continuous take up to 30 seconds long.

## Key Features

- **Native audio in one pass** — dialogue, ambience, music, and effects generated with the picture, synced to on-screen motion.
- **Up to 30-second single-take clips** at 480P, 720P, or 1080P, with five aspect ratios plus adaptive.
- **Three input modes in one endpoint** — text-to-video, image-to-video (first or first-last frame), and reference-based video.
- **Reference inputs** — up to 10 reference images, 5 reference videos, and reference audio for lip-sync.
- **Fast turnaround** — the accelerated Prime tier trims wait times versus standard Wan 3.0.
- **Controls** — negative prompt, prompt extension, seed, and an optional AI-generated watermark.

## Best Use Cases

Wan 3.0 Video Prime fits fast creative work where sound is part of the story: social clips, product teasers, cooking and food b-roll, music and performance scenes, machinery, crowds, and talking-character tests. In testing, a single still of a steak in a hot skillet animated into a full searing shot — oil spitting, butter foaming, steam rising — with a sizzle track locked to the motion. Image-to-video animates approved key art or product photography; first-and-last-frame control sets a shot's start and end; and reference images keep a product or character consistent, which is ideal for previsualization, mood pieces, and ad concepting.

## Prompt Tips and Output Quality

Write the sound you want directly into the prompt — "loud sizzle and oil crackle" or "thunderous drum booms" — and keep audio on to get a scored clip. Use concrete nouns and one clear action rather than filler adjectives. Leave the first frame empty for text-to-video, add a first and last frame for controlled transitions, and pass reference images to hold a design. In testing, 720P five-second clips returned clean 1280x720 H.264 video with synchronized stereo audio and no visible artifacts; step up to 1080P for hero shots and extend duration for full scenes.

## FAQs

**Does Wan 3.0 Video Prime generate audio?** Yes. It composes native audio in the same pass as the video, synced to the motion.

**How long can a clip be?** Up to 30 seconds in a single continuous take, from a minimum of 2 seconds.

**What resolutions and aspect ratios are supported?** 480P, 720P, and 1080P across 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, and adaptive.

**Can it do text-to-video without an image?** Yes. Leave the first frame empty and the model generates from the prompt alone.

**Does it support lip-sync?** Yes. Supply reference audio to drive a subject's lip movements.

**How is it different from standard Wan 3.0?** Prime is the accelerated tier: the same capabilities with significantly faster generation.
2a:Tef6,# How to Use Wan 3.0 Video Prime

Wan 3.0 Video Prime generates video with native audio from a prompt, a still image, or reference material, on the accelerated Prime tier. Pick the input mode that matches your source, describe the motion and the sound together, and keep audio on so the clip comes back scored.

## Recommended Settings

- **Input mode.** Leave the first frame empty for text-to-video. Add a first frame for image-to-video. Add a first and last frame to control where the shot ends. Pass reference images to hold a subject or style.
- **Resolution and duration.** These drive time and cost (billed per rendered second). Use 720P at 5 seconds for iteration — a clean 1280x720 clip returned in roughly 50-85 seconds in testing — 1080P for hero shots, and up to 30 seconds for full scenes.
- **Audio.** Keep `audio` on and write the sound into the prompt. It scores the clip in the same pass with no price change.
- **Prompt extend.** Leave it on for short prompts; turn it off to save 20-60 seconds or to keep an exact, already-detailed prompt.

## Example prompts to try

Each example below ran end to end at the settings shown (720P, 5s, audio on), and each carried its stated input mode through to the finished clip.

- **Default — image-to-video with native audio.** Prompt: "A thick ribeye steak sears in a cast-iron skillet: oil spits and bubbles around the browning crust, a knob of butter foams and turns amber, and sprigs of thyme curl in the heat as steam lifts off the meat. A hand tilts the pan and spoons the sizzling butter over the top. Loud sizzle and oil crackle, the low roar of a gas flame, butter bubbling." The still steak came alive with basting, foaming butter, steam, and a lit flame, and the sizzle landed with the motion. Tip: start from a frame that already shows oil in a hot pan so the sound has something to act on.
- **Text-to-video, no first frame.** Prompt: "Two taiko drummers in indigo happi coats strike a giant nagado-daiko drum in a dark wooden hall, arms crossing overhead and slamming down in unison, the drumhead flexing and dust jumping off the skin on every hit. Thunderous synchronized drum booms, sharp wooden rim clacks, deep bass reverberating through the hall." From the prompt alone the model staged two drummers striking in unison with synchronized booms. Tip: name the instrument and the exact action to get clean percussion audio.
- **First-and-last-frame control.** Prompt: "A red camellia bud unfurls into a full bloom, petals peeling open one layer at a time against a black background, dew beading along the edges. A faint rustle of petals and quiet room tone." Given a closed-bud first frame and an open-bloom last frame, the model filled the motion between them. Tip: use a first and last frame of the same subject in the same framing so the transition reads cleanly.

### Reference-guided inputs

Wan 3.0 Video Prime accepts up to 10 reference images, 5 reference videos, and reference audio; address each by its role in the prompt (for example, "the subject in the reference image"). Reference audio drives lip-sync.

- **Reference-image consistency.** Prompt: "A hand-painted ceramic cat figurine rotates on a slate turntable as the camera orbits, its cobalt-blue floral glaze catching the light and every brushstroke on the pattern holding steady. A quiet workshop room tone and faint ceramic ring." The figurine's cobalt floral paintwork stayed consistent while it rotated under an orbiting camera. Tip: pass the subject as a reference image, not a first frame, to keep its design across a moving shot.

Further shots the model is built for: "animate this product photo with a slow orbit and a soft room tone", "extend this 5-second clip to 15 seconds", and "make the character in the reference image speak this line" with a supplied audio track.
2b:Tff3,## How Pricing Works

Wan 3.0 Video Prime is billed per second of video processed, at a per-second rate set by the **output resolution** (480p, 720p or 1080p). Two things are counted:

- **The video you generate**: 2 to 30 seconds, or the length of the source clip when you edit a video with `duration: -1`.
- **Every reference video you attach, at its full length** (up to 15 seconds each). If you attach more than one, their lengths add up.

Text prompts, a first or last frame image, reference images and audio generation add no charge.

```
billed seconds = output duration + total reference video duration
cost = rate × billed seconds
```

### Per-Second Rates

| Resolution | Rate |
|---|---|
| 480p | $0.085/s |
| 720p | $0.175/s |
| 1080p | $0.35/s |

Reference video seconds are charged at your output's rate, whatever the reference's own resolution or frame rate, so a lower-quality reference is not a cheaper one. A shorter one is.

### Quick Cost Examples

| Mode | Resolution | Reference video | Output | Billed seconds | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Text / image-to-video | 480p | — | 5s | 5 | $0.425 |
| Text / image-to-video | 720p | — | 5s | 5 | $0.875 |
| Text / image-to-video | 720p | — | 10s | 10 | $1.75 |
| Text / image-to-video | 1080p | — | 30s | 30 | $10.50 |
| With a reference video | 720p | 5s | 10s | 15 | $2.625 |
| With a reference video | 720p | 12s | 10s | 22 | $3.85 |
| With a reference video | 1080p | 12s | 10s | 22 | $7.70 |
| Video edit (`duration: -1`) | 720p | 10s source clip | 10s | 20 | $3.50 |

### Credit Holds vs. Your Final Charge

If you watch your balance during a generation, you may see an amount deducted that differs from what the clip ends up costing. That is expected:

1. **On request**: Segmind places a temporary hold on credits, sized from this model's recent average cost. This is an estimate, not the price of your clip.
2. **On completion**: the hold is settled at the actual cost of your request. If the hold was larger, the difference is returned to your balance right away; if it was smaller (common for long outputs or generations with reference videos), the remainder is deducted.

So the number to reconcile against the tables above is your balance **after** the request settles, not the momentary change while it runs.

**Failed generations are not billed.** If a request returns an error, the hold is rolled back in full and you are charged nothing.

### Important Notes

- **A reference video usually costs more than the output it drives**: a 10-second output guided by a 12-second reference is billed as 22 seconds, not 10.
- **Editing a clip bills the source and the result**: editing a 10-second clip into a 10-second result is billed as 20 seconds.
- **Audio is free**: generating a soundtrack does not change the price.
- **Aspect ratio does not affect the price**: every ratio at a given resolution bills at the same rate.
- **Exact lengths**: output is billed in whole seconds of the video you receive, and reference videos at their measured length (for example, 11.71 seconds).

### Cost Optimization Tips

- **Trim reference videos to the motion you need**: cutting a 12-second reference to 5 seconds saves 7 billed seconds ($1.225 at 720p) on every generation.
- **Use reference images when you only need a character or a style**: reference images add nothing to the bill; reference videos add their full length.
- **480p for drafts, 720p for delivery, 1080p for hero shots**: each step up in resolution roughly doubles the per-second rate.
- **Match duration to the shot**: output cost is strictly per second, so request the length you need (2 to 30 seconds).
- **Fix the seed to iterate**: lock a seed and refine the prompt instead of re-rolling full-length renders.

### Example Scenario

A creator producing 20 character-replacement clips a day at 720p, each a 10-second output driven by a 12-second reference video, is billed 22 seconds per clip: about **$77.00/day**. Trimming each reference to the 5 seconds that matter brings that to 15 seconds per clip, about **$52.50/day**.

31:Tef6,# How to Use Wan 3.0 Video Prime

32:Tff3,## How Pricing Works

Wan 3.0 Video Prime is billed per second of video processed, at a per-second rate set by the **output resolution** (480p, 720p or 1080p). Two things are counted:

- **The video you generate**: 2 to 30 seconds, or the length of the source clip when you edit a video with `duration: -1`.
- **Every reference video you attach, at its full length** (up to 15 seconds each). If you attach more than one, their lengths add up.

Text prompts, a first or last frame image, reference images and audio generation add no charge.

```
billed seconds = output duration + total reference video duration
cost = rate × billed seconds
```
